As the great words of Hampi Inscription carved on a stone rightly utters that,
"ಕೆರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸು, ಭಾವಿಯನ್ನು ತೋಡಿಸು, ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡು, ಮಿತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ
ಮಾಡು, ನಂಬಿಧವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಡ, ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಲಹು", Sri G S Patil is the man
who embodies and lives all these words. He is a thinker, simple, dignified, soft
spoken and role model for others who are in social service and politics.
He is the person, a born leader who elected from Gadag district Ron constituency
for three times. In his period as an MLA, he has been continuously working for the
total development of people and society. He has built one thousand lakes and got
attributed as "ಸಾವಿರ ಕೆರೆಗಳ ಸರದಾರ". That means the owner and leader
of 1000 lakes. He belongs to Patil(Gouda) family of Ron, which is a prestigious
family of the Ron. As a president of Ware House Corporation of Karnataka State,
he is the living spirit behind construction of Godowns and preservation of seeds
and food grains, which are grown by farmers. He has been always a helping hand for
poor people. Through this he got a permanent place in the hearts of the people,
as he shares the happiness and sorrows of the people.
Shri G.S. Patil established S.R. Patil Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Education Society
in Ron. For the past 40 years of his political career, he has been selflessly striving
for the welfare of the society. He has achieved lot of developmental works in association
with many foundations and departments. He ensures that his constituency people get
maximum benefits that are available from state/central govternment progamms. He
keeps himself dedicated for the wellfare of the people wheather he is in power or
not.
Shri G.S. Patil is a leader of backward, minority, poor people and formers as well
as labour class. He is lovable, faithful leader of the people. He is elected as
an MLA for 3 times. He has a great love and respect for teachers. In 2013 Assembly
Election one of the agendas was establishing Smart Class Programmes in all government
and private management High Schools under E-Shiksha programme. We wish that may
God bless him with Great Spirit and health to do more social services.
Under the leadership of Shri G.S. Patil, Gadag District's 6th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana
got grand success, inaugurated by our honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri
Siddaramayya. He is the man who is behind a great success of Sammelana, enhanced
a great respect towards the language among the people of area. In the year 1994,
Old Dharwad District's 4th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana was also succeeded under the
leadership of Shri G.S. Patil, inaugurated by then Chief Minister of Karnataka,
Shri M. Veerappa Moili.
